IMMI açık alan gürültü tahmini ve haritalandırılması üzerinde uzmanlaşmıştır. Yazılım, ISO, Fransa, İngiltere, İsviçre, Nordik Ülkeleri, Hollanda, Avusturya ve Almanya dan alınan hesaplama metotları, normlar ve yönergelere dayanmaktadır.

Uygulama alanları; gürültü tahminleri, gürültü haritası çıkarılması, şehirlerin gürültü haritalarının çıkarılması, karayolu planlaması, gürültü kontrolü ve hafifletilmesi konusundaki tedbirlerin planlanması, çevresel etkilerle ilgili çalışmalar, düzenleyici izinlerin verilmesi gibi konuları kapsamaktadır..
